What do you think of this quote?
What do you think of this quote by Elizabeth O'Connor, author of the classic Journey Inward Journey Outward? “Modern psychology has made us aware that we become individuals in relationship with others and that where there is no genuine community the self is damaged and grows in crooked ways….when the church wakes again it will know that there can be no consequential change in the lives of people unless there is community.’
Amen! Amen! I talk a lot about the importance of community on my blog at www.whydidntyouwarnme.com and in my book "Why Didn't You Warn Me? How to Deal With Challenging Group Members." Jesus works through the Body of Christ. He has no other tools. The problem is, we are often too picky about who we want to be in community with, and the EGR (extra grace required) people are too often not in that group. A lot like junior high! So how do we deliberately love those who lack social skills or group skills? When we solve that problem, we'll finally become the Body of Christ and become the workers who reap the harvest.
